About KatieCakes Preserves

I’m Katie and I’m the face behind KatieCakes Preserves. I have grown up in Aberdeenshire and I can’t think of anywhere I would rather live! 

I live on a small farm just outside Methlick, where I am incredibly lucky to have a huge amount of wild produce, as well as home grown fruit and vegetables available. I started making jams as a way to use some of this amazing produce. I have been working really hard over this past year to increase the amount and variety of fruit and vegetables which we grow that I can use in my preserves. I try and make both traditional and more unique and interesting flavours of preserves so that there is something for everyone. 

I only use the highest quality fruit in my preserves, and I never use chemicals when I’m growing them, to make sure everything is as delicious as possible. 

I am constantly working on new flavours and combinations, and I love to hear if there is something you really would like to see! 

As well as jams, jellies and chutneys I make a range of baked goods, the most popular being Dirt Bombs which are buttery cinnamon muffins, and Blueberry muffins, made with home grown blueberries. These are all made to order to make sure they are as fresh as possible. I will also have various fruits and vegetables available to purchase through out the year, which I will feature on the website when it is available.

I am committed to trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible - I use sustainably sourced and recyclable packaging wherever possible, I waste as little fruit and vegetables as possible when making my products, and don’t use any kind of chemicals when growing my produce. It is so important that we protect our planet for our future!

I also love to take bespoke orders, for instance jams as wedding favours or muffins for an event. Please get in touch and we can working something out!
